Events
Annual Walk in October: (Hours vary)
The Walk for Remembrance and Hope is an annual event that takes place in October for families that have experienced a loss of a pregnancy or infant. The walk committee members need to have a passion for planning and design. The walk committee works together to line up entertainment and decorations.
Festival of Trees: (Hours vary)
Serve as a liaison between the FOT application committee and Share. FOT committee works as a group of volunteers in making sure ornaments are properly made and designed and the tree is set up at the event.
Fundraising (Shopping Extravaganza/Gala): (Hours vary)
Shopping Extravaganza: This takes place at the outlet malls in Lehi. This is an annual event. You will work with the outlet team to make sure paperwork is in order. You will then be in charge of selling tickets to the event and lining up volunteers to help work the event.
Gala: The Gala typically takes place in February. The person in charge needs to work on lining up auction items (typically a year in advance), event location, and food.
Hospital In-service
(Hours vary)
Inservice members will be in charge of working with various hospitals that are served by Share to make sure they have adequate training materials. The in-service team will meet throughout the year to update training materials and discuss training dates. The training is a 45 minute training with a 15 minute Q&A.
Hospital Stocker
(3.5 hours quarterly)
Stockers are assigned specific hospitals and are in charge of making sure Share supplies such as: are available when volunteers arrive at a hospital. Share supplies can include alginate, hydrocal, cups, mixing bowls, sweetly sleeping sets, mementos, and more. They are in charge of maintaining their restocking kit by gathering the supplies at the storage unit. They then use this kit to restock their assigned hospital.
Stockers are typically assigned to 2 hospitals. They will visit their hospitals at least quarterly and check to see which supplies are low and replacing them, as well as gathering any odds/ends that happen to be in the bereavement storage area that need to be re-kitted. Those items will then be taken back to the storage unit and placed in the appropriate tote.
Pour/Pull/Clean Molds
(1-2 hours)
Molds person is in charge of pouring, pulling, and cleaning/fixing molds that are dropped off to them. Product is time sensitive so must be completed asap. They also will be in charge of working with Hospital Companion on mold delivery.
Shopping Cart Liason
(15 minutes per order)
This person will need to either have a stock of merchandise in their home or be willing to travel to the storage unit to get the needed items to fulfill orders. They will be in charge of orders that come in through WooCommerce. They then package and ship the item through our Pitney Bowes platform.
Storage Unit Assistant
(1 hour per month)
This person is responsible for maintaining the organization of the storage unit. They will also work with the product manager to purchase materials we are running low on.
Service Projects
(Hours vary)
Create blankets, hats, gowns, and memory pouches through knitting, crocheting, or sewing to support grieving families. Items provide warmth and solace in hospital bereavement rooms. There will be guidelines to follow. Each handmade piece is a meaningful gift, offering care when words fall short. More details found here.
Rekitting, Cutting diapers/hats
(10 hours per year)
Rekitting: Take the supplies that have been picked up from the hospitals in disarray and preparing them to go back to the hospital bereavement rooms. Oftentimes nurses will go through our pre-assembled kits and remove items which means we have to ‘rekit.’
Cutting diapers/hats: We receive about 90% of our clothing from Teeny Tears, but there are times during the year when we need to cut hats and diapers. It is the volunteer’s job to get the hat material and ribbon from the storage unit or their lead and make the various size hats we use. Sometimes there is also an opportunity to pin the diaper sets that are given to us via donation.
Product Management
(1 hour per month)
This person is in charge of buying materials/mementos for Share when stock is running low.
Share Phone Line
(On call)
Call line support is a rotating position every other quarter. Must be available between 8 AM – 10PM to return messages in a timely manner. You will either be in Group A (1st and 3rd quarter) or Group B (2nd and 4th quarter). This position is split between 3 to 4 people. You will work together to see who is available to return the call and post it. Once a volunteer is able to go on the call, you will then reach out to the person who called and update them on when the volunteer will be there.
Social Media
(Hours vary)
Social Media volunteers will be in charge of tasks assigned to them in order to run and maintain our social media pages, groups, and website. We need someone that can make sure all events are advertised and maintain a following on our accounts and in our groups. Jobs include creating content and posting on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc. as well as improving our website, creating an emailed newsletter, and general management of digital content.
Support Group Facilitator/Sub
(1.5 hours a month)
**MUST BE 18 MONTHS+ FROM MOST RECENT LOSS** Facilitators will be working directly with families that are in need of peer support. Must be willing to listen and move conversation along with open ended questions. Most meetings are done in person with two being done via Dialpad. A sub is someone that steps in when a regular facilitator is unable to facilitate.
Board Service Member
(Hours Vary)
A year-long commitment beginning in January to help guide our mission and support grieving families. Positions include President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and At-Large Members. Board members collaborate on decisions, outreach, and operations to ensure the organization thrives. Meetings and responsibilities vary by role, but all play a vital part in making a difference.
